Sintra, the old summer village of the Portuguese kings, has been named a cultural heritage site by humanity many years ago . The charm and romanticism of this village enchants any visitor to this day. Morning departure from Cascais. The first stop will be the Palace of Pena, a romantic 18th century castle, where the last king of Portugal lived before he had to go into exile. The building of a mixture of curious styles, looks in fact like a fairy castle. Walking through it the history of Portugal becomes present, in fact it seems that the king left yesterday ... The castle is surrounded by a beautiful park that deserves a walk. It is also possible to arrive with a small train that stops practically at the entrance door of the castle. Visit and then continuation to the village of Sintra. Free time to take a stroll through iits picturesque alleys and squares. In its many ceramic and handicraft shops you can find a little present to take home. The tuktuk is the ideal means of transport to enjoy the picturesque squares and narrow alleys of neighborhoods like Alfama, Baixa and Chiado. The tour will also go through some of the most beautiful viewpoints in the city and will allow you to enjoy Lisbon from its hills where it reveals breathtaking panoramas. For those who want to dedicate a whole day to get to know the most western and exotic capital of Europe. Departure by morning bus from Cascais to Lisbon. Upon arriving at the panoramic tour of the district of Belém, which still bears witness to the most important period in the history of Lisbon, the glorious time of the discoveries in the fifteenth century. Visit to the monument of the Portuguese Discoveries, the Belém Tower and the Jerónimos Monastery with entrance to the church. Coffee break at the famous Fábrica dos Pastéis de Belém where you can taste the sweetest secret of Lisbon - the pastel de Nata. Next, take the bus up the Marquês de Pombal, an important crossroads from where the Avenida da Liberdade goes down to the historic centre. Believer or not, Fatima is a spiritual place that does not leave anyone indifferent. Departure in the morning in minian or bus from Cascais. The transfer time will be ca hour and a half. Visit Fatima. Then continue to Nazaré, a small fishing village that has recently gained fame as a surfing destination for its giant waves. Free time for lunch by the sea or in one of the taverns in the centre. In the afternoon, visit of Obidos, one of the many cultural heritage sites by Unesco. The romantic village in fact deserves a visit. Stroll through its alleys and painterly squares, explore its handicraft shops and don't miss a Ginjinha, the typical sour cherry liqueur that has its origin in this village.
