The Portuguese West, a region north of Lisbon and its Cabo da Roca, has lately received more attention from local and foreign travelers.

Its gentle landscapes of utmost beauty, the still unspoiled beaches and the genuine and typical gastronomy do impress everybody who visits this region.

Óbidos, with its mediaeval castle and ancient walls and classified as Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, is known as being one of the most beautiful Portuguese villages.

Taste the famous Ginjinha – a ginger liquor – and explore the attractive handicraft shops and cafes sprinkled along the old streets.

Close to the village Bombarral we will visit one of the most emblematic wine producers of the region, the Quinta do Sanguinhal, and its historic distillery.

After a visit we will taste the wines and regional products of this inviting winery. A few minutes from here we will find a huge Asian garden, the Buddha Eden, created by persons dedicated to join the pleasure of wine and genuine products with the arts.

This very unusual garden invites you to a moment of Zen. Explore it by travelling on the small train, which brings you to the enigmatic spots of this very special place.

Now we will taste some wines and the superb sparkling wine, typical product of the region, of the producer Quinta dos Loridos. This winery is owned by Bacalhoa, known for its exemplary production of fine wines and regional products, always connected to projects of the fine arts.

Returning to Lisbon we cannot miss to make a stop at the beautiful beaches of this region.
