Alentejo

One of Portugal's most important wine regions starting ca. 100 km south of Lisbon. Subdivided into several other regions, with different wines between its north and south and a variety of native grape varieties. Paragoned with Tuscany for its many culinary attractions and its historic castles, and also with California for the wide plantations of vineyards on its endless plains. It offers a wide variety of Montes and Herdades - as the producers are called here - to discover; beautiful landscapes, endless plains, mountain ranges and dams, and a coastline that is one of the most beautiful and still unspoiled in Portugal.
